Gulfstream Park, Fl. – The Sagamore team had a busy weekend of racing in sunny Florida at Gulfstream Park, including a third place finish by newly acquired filly, Miss Temple City, out of Temple City – Glittering Tax, by Artax.

In just her third career start, Miss Temple City proved her worth in Race 8 on Saturday, January 24. Under jockey John Velasquez, Miss Temple City finished third after dueling with Quality Rocks from the inside, and eventually fell to Consumer Credit as well by 1 length. Miss Temple City battled with Quality Rocks for the lead until the final stretch where she drifted out and was unable to straighten out enough to compete for the final neck. Also during the busy race weekend, jockey Joe Bravo lead both How You and Tizgale to fourth place finishes.

In his just second career start, the Lookin At Lucky- Etoufee colt by Tabasco Cat, How You, was off to a late jump in the fifth race, on January 23. How You was allowed to settle early on in the latter end of the pack until he moved extremely wide through the second turn. Making his move along the final straight, How You jumped up several spots with a late surge of energy, however he fell just short of placing, ultimately finishing fourth by 4 ¾ lengths behind the leader, Call Me Crazy.

On Sunday, January 25, Sagamore homebred filly Tizgale, out of Stormy Atlantic – Tizthen, by Tiznow, kicked off the New Year with her ninth career start in Race 9 at Gulfstream Park. After being bumped at the start, Tizgale was able to maintain a position on the inside, racing in tight quarters nearing the 16th pole, where she was unable to break from the pack and finished1 ½ lengths behind the leader, Catching Fireflies.
