Glyndon, Md. — It will be a night for sports legends when the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame conducts its 55th induction ceremony on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Two dual sport athletes who competed in pro football and baseball; two Olympians; a lacrosse legend; and the first Thoroughbred to ever be inducted into the MSAHOF will compose the class of unique inductees who will be honored for their accomplishments and enshrined in the prestigious Hall of Fame.

In addition, the MSAHOF will present the John Steadman Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes the contribution of individuals over a long career of supporting and advancing athletics in the state of Maryland.

Inductees in the Class of 2014 include:

  • Beth Botsford – Swimming
  • Tommy Brown – Football / Baseball
  • Brian Jordan – Football / Baseball
  • Bob Scott – Lacrosse
  • Kimmie Meissner – Figure Skating
  • Native Dancer – Thoroughbred Racing

The John Steadman Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented in honor of the late Earl Banks, the long time Head Football Coach at Morgan State University.
